Phi Beta Chi is a social sorority on Purdue's campus that supports collegiate women academically, spiritually, and socially.  The sorority was founded nationally on March 26th, 1978. As a national sorority, we pride ourselves for the 3 Cs; Church, Chapter, and Community.  The organization was founded upon Lutheran principles and these principles are celebrated today through the organization's semester church projects and various spiritual life activities.  We honor our Lutheran Foundation through the church project and spiritual life events, but it is not required that members be of the Christian Faith.  We pride ourselves on academics.  We support one another academically and had half of our sisters make the Dean's List and Semester honors this past fall semester!  Our sisters have diverse majors that include animal science, food science, biology, public health, engineering, psychology, and marketing.  In Fall 2016 we had the second overall highest GPA!

As a national sorority, we pride ourselves in our service to the community. Each semester, Beta Chapter participates in numerous community projects.  This past semester, the sisters volunteered at the YMCA at two different events, one was a daddy daughter dance, and the other was a carnival. We also volunteered at Camp Tecumseh and helped landscape, and participated in Purdue's Relay for Life.

Phi Beta Chi is recognized as a social sorority and is active in the Greek Community on Purdue's Campus.  We not only value our Greek Community, but we also honor sisterhood.  Beta Chapter is a smaller sorority that currently holds 28 active sisters.  However, our small numbers allow us to have a close knit bond and strong sisterhood.  We have sisterhood activities almost weekly including dinners, movie nights, Starbucks dates, and bowling to name a few.  We also complete a chapter project each semester. This year we are going to Eagle Creek, for a day of kayaking and outdoor adventures!
